Ten years of Highgrade, representing 10 years of constant development and new impulses in the electronic music scene, both through innovative
releases and widely respected events. During those years the Berlin label has built an extensive network of creative minds, who more than anything
else, characterise the multi-faceted reputation of the label, the result of which is now brought together on a compilation entitled: "Group
of Connected Heads". With the "Group of Connected Heads", Highgrade manages a kind of family meeting, with the prospect of further
continuation. So, as the compilation goes into production we can expect further episodes of the same series in the future. For here, we not only
meet different artists and their work, but the label will also create a connection between art and craft - and a form of Work in Progress. For
example, the artwork for this first "Group of Connected Heads" was designed in cooperation with the Berlin School of Art: Meandering
lines connect seemingly at random, to form almost incidental heads - a symbol of the creative symbiosis that will help satisfy the goals of this
long-term project. However, for all it's visual delights the "Group of Connected Heads" is primarily a feast for the ears. The eleven
tracks come from the core artists of the label such as Tom Clark and Todd Bodine, old hands like Jens Bond, Markus Homm, Mihai Popoviciu,
Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner , Marcus Sur and Prompt - and new comers such as Andri, Dachshund and Dale. Despite the diversity of the artists,
the compilation is a compelling and coherent album, which sounds like a journey through the diverse Highgrade universe. Driving rhythms and catchy
beats, peppered with surprising and original musical ideas - typically Highgrade.

Zehn Jahre Highgrade, das sind zehn Jahre ständig neue Impulse für die Elektronik-Szene, sei es nun mittels innovativer Releases oder angesehener
Events. Über die Zeit hat sich das Berliner Plattenlabel ein weit verzweigtes Netzwerk kreativer Köpfe geschaffen – was läge da näher, als genau
diese Köpfe, die den facettenreichen Ruf des Labels prägen, auf einer Kompilation zusammenzubringen? Das Ergebnis heißt "Group of Connected
Heads". Mit "Group of Connected Heads" ist Highgrade eine Art musikalisches Familientreffen gelungen – mit Aussicht auf Fortsetzung:
So soll die Kompilation in Serie gehen, Fortsetzung ausdrücklich erwünscht. Denn hier treffen sich nicht nur unterschiedlichste Künstler und ihre
Werke, das Label will auch eine Verbindung zwischen Kunst und Handwerk schaffen – und das als Work in Progress. So entstand etwa das Artwork für
die Premiere von "Group of Connected Heads" in einer Kooperation mit der Kunstschule Berlin: Verschlungene Linien, die sich scheinbar
zufällig verbinden und dabei fast nebenbei Köpfe formen – ein Sinnbild für die kreativen Symbiosen, die das Projekt langfristig schaffen will. Bei
allen optischen Schmankerln ist "Group of Connected Heads" aber vor allem ein Highlight für die Ohren: Die elf Tracks stammen von
Highgrade-Residents wie Tom Clark und Todd Boddine, alten Hasen wie Jens Bond, Markus Homm, Mihai Popoviciu, Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner, Macus
Sur und Prompt und Neuzugängen wie Andri, Dachshund und Dale. Trotz der Unterschiedlichkeit der Künstler entsteht ein stringentes und stimmiges
Album, das wie eine Reise durch das vielseitige Highgrade-Universum wirkt: treibende Rhythmen und eingängige Beats, die mit überraschenden,
originellen musikalischen Einfällen gespickt sind – eben typisch Highgrade. Die Kompilation wird als CD und Download erhältlich sein.
